On October 19, a delegation from the CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute conducted a research visit to the Affiliated Sichuan Rehabilitation Hospital. The delegation was led by Zhou Siyuan, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM). The delegation included Heidi Fuller, Director of Teaching at Keele University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences; Thomas Shepherd, Director of the Global Health and Wellbeing Research Center; Adam Winterton, a physiotherapy expert; Chen Yunhui, Deputy Dean of the CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute; Jin Rongjiang, Head of the Rehabilitation Therapy Program; along with other experts and project leaders.

Zhong Wu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Sichuan Rehabilitation Hospital, and Yang Xin, Deputy Director and Party Committee Member, accompanied the delegation during the visit. President Zhong Wu welcomed the delegation, expressing hope that the exchange would further enhance mutual understanding, strengthen ties and cooperation, and jointly promote the establishment of a community of shared health for humanity.

The delegation visited several facilities, including the Sports Therapy Center, Karen Center, Hydrotherapy Center, 3D Assistive Devices Production Center, Children's Rehabilitation Center, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Rehabilitation Center. They experienced firsthand the unique advantages of TCM in rehabilitation and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as rehabilitation concepts, techniques, the application of TCM in rehabilitation, interdisciplinary advantages, talent cultivation, and the development of internship bases.

Deputy Director Zhou Siyuan expressed heartfelt gratitude for the significant role the Affiliated Sichuan Rehabilitation Hospital has played in the talent cultivation efforts of CDUTCM. Director Heidi Fuller highly praised the hospital, expressing a desire for continued strengthening of exchanges in the field of rehabilitation therapy. She emphasized the importance of integrating TCM with modern rehabilitation techniques to solidify the foundation of relevant professional fields and to cultivate more internationally competent professionals with distinct characteristics. This cooperation aims to contribute to the global health and well-being of humanity.
